Jignesh Patel is a professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he has served on the faculty since September 2008. He has graduated over 20 Ph.D. students, and his papers have been selected as the best papers in a number of top database conferences, including SIGMOD and VLDB. He is Fellow of both the ACM and the IEEE computing organizations. He has also won teaching awards at both the U. Wisconsin and the U. Michigan.
He is currently also the co-founder and CEO of DataChat, a startup headquartered in Madison that aims to disrupt the way data analytics is delivered to business users. He is a serial entrepreneur, and his past companies have been acquired by Teradata (1997), Twitter (2013) and Pivotal (2015). He is also an experienced board member having served on both public (Lands’ End) and private company boards.
Prof. Patel brings extensive experience with emerging technologies and technology-driven companies from his academic and professional activities.
