Sonia Sennik is the Executive Director, Creative Destruction Lab (CDL). Having spent nearly a decade managing large-scale capital projects (up to $500M) at a leading global engineering firm, Sonia is well-established in leading diverse groups to ambitious ends and interdisciplinary teams of professionals working on multiple, complex projects. Her particular areas of interest include finessing workplace culture, mentoring future leaders, and actualizing the potential of their ideas.
Sonia has been the head coach of Rugby Ontario Senior Women’s Team since 2016. The team, under Sonia’s leadership, won gold at the 2017 Canadian Rugby Championships. This established Sonia as the first female head coach to win gold at the Canadian Rugby Championships. Sonia is a co-owner at SWAT Health, a multidisciplinary fitness and wellness facility based in the GTA, and is a member of the board of directors for ParticipACTION. Sonia is a proud graduate of the MBA program at Rotman School of Management and was the first-ever recipient of the Rotman Social Impact Award. She also holds a BEng degree from McMaster University.
