Robert Gagné is Chairman of the board of IVADO (Institute for Data Valorization). IVADO was founded by HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, and the Université de Montréal with the objective of making Montréal a world leader in data science. In September 2016, this centre of expertise was awarded a $93.6 million grant by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, the largest grant ever received on the University of Montreal campus.
Robert Gagné is also the Director of the Centre for Productivity and Prosperity and a professor of Economics with HEC Montréal’s Department of Applied Economics. He is also Director, Research and Knowledge Transfer at HEC Montréal. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université de Montréal. His main areas of interest are applied econometrics, industrial organization, and public policy.
