Since July 2016, Raquel has been an Associate Professor in the department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. She is also a Canada Research Chair in Machine Learning and Computer Vision. From January 2014 to July 2016, she was an Assistant Professor in the same department. From September 2009 to January 2014, she was an Assistant Professor at TTI-Chicago, a philanthropically endowed academic institute located in the campus of the University of Chicago. She was also a visiting professor at ETH Zurich during the spring semester of 2010, working with Prof. Marc Pollefeys. Previously, she was a postdoctoral research scientist at UC Berkeley EECS and ICSI. Before that, she was a postdoctoral associate at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT, where she worked with Prof. Trevor Darrell. Raquel completed her PhD at the Computer Vision Laboratory, at EPFL, Switzerland, on June 2006, under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Fua and Prof. David Fleet at the University of Toronto. She previously worked as a research assistant at the Ecole National Superior de Telecomunication (ENST) in Paris, in the Image Processing Department. She graduated as an Electrical Engineer in the Universidad Publica de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain and completed her Master Thesis in Eurecom, France.
