Nick Koudas

Nick Koudas is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Toronto and the Co-Founder and President of Sysomos, a social media monitoring and analytics company, acquired by Marketwire in July 2010. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, he was a member of AT&T’s research laboratories and an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University. Nick serves on the editorial review boards of four scientific journals related to data management systems and data analysis and sits on the program committees of leading data management conferences. He holds more than 20 patents and has published more than 100 research publications in the areas of database systems, text analytics, and information mining. Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Patras in Greece, an Msc from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a PhD degree from the University of Toronto. He was named “Inventor of the year” in 2011 at the University of Toronto.
