Mike Durland is the former Group Head and CEO, Global Banking and Markets, for Scotiabank. He retired from Scotiabank in 2016 and is now the CEO of Melancthon Capital. He’s also a member of the Business Strategy Committee for the Global Risk Institute, the Chair of the Board of Directors of DeepLearning, and a founding principal in Cabot Links. Mike holds an honourary Doctor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University, where he was installed as Chancellor in May 2019. He is also a member of the boards of directors of TruLeaf Sustainable Agriculture and the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation. Additionally, he is a member on many advisory boards, including the Smith School of Business, the Center for Social Impact, and the Masters of Management Analytics Program, all at Queen’s University.
