Kausar Samli

Dr. Kausar Samli is SVP Global Services at Learning Machine, a global leader in blockchain-based digital credentials. He previously served as COO at 1QBit, a quantum computing software company, and as CEO at Lectenz Bio, a biotech company developing enabling technologies for applications in biomarker detection and analysis using high performance computing and protein engineering.

Living in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America shaped Dr. Samli’s global perspective. As a thought leader, internationalist, and entrepreneur, he provides leadership and advises teams on strategy, technology commercialization, and organizational development. He focuses on fostering innovation to enact positive rapid change critical for addressing regional and global challenges. Dr. Samli serves as a Horizon 2020 Expert for the European Commission and is a member of Singularity University’s Faculty Speaker Bureau; he previously served as a SU Ambassador. He is a member of the board of directors of Lectenz® Bio and Women@TheFrontier and the board of advisors of the Aubrey Daniels Institute. In recognition of his scholarship, leadership, and service, he was elected as a member of the Blue Key Honor Society at the University of Georgia and named Emerging Leader of the Year by Georgia Bio.

Dr. Samli has a unique blend of scientific expertise in cell-specific targeting, high-throughput screening, molecular evolution, protein engineering, and computational chemistry. He is a co-inventor on pending patents and the recipient of a Marie Curie Fellowship; he also has published biotech research and presented at international conferences. He holds a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Georgia, an MS in chemistry from Arizona State University, and a BS in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. He attended SU’s Global Solutions Program specializing in technology entrepreneurship and global grand challenges and has cofounded multiple startups.
