John Laban is a technologist, entrepreneur, startup advisor, and angel investor.  He is currently the co-founder and CEO of a DevOps SaaS startup named OpsLevel.

Previously, John was the first employee of PagerDuty, an incident management and operations SaaS company.  Over 7.5 years and many different roles, he helped grow and scale PagerDuty from 4 to 400 people and from $0 to $100MM in ARR. At PagerDuty, John’s focus was in senior leadership in engineering and product development.

In a past life, John built an engineering services company to 50+ talented employees and saw it through an acquisition.  He also worked at Amazon, helping bring new ML techniques to the risk management space.

John was born and raised in Sudbury, went to school in Waterloo, lived in San Francisco, Vancouver, and Seattle, and currently calls Toronto home.
