Dr. Elicia Maine is a Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the founding Academic Director for “Invention to Innovation” (i2I) at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University. Her research focuses on the dynamics of innovation in the advanced materials, nanomaterials, biotechnology, and emerging nano-biotechnology industries.

Outside of her involvement in academia, she currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Foresight Cleantech Accelerator and of BC Innovation Council’s New Ventures BC. As a recognition for her exemplary qualities of teaching and entrepreneurial contribution to the community, she was awarded the 2017 TD / Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award and was a finalist for BC TECH’s 2016 “Person of the Year” award.

Dr. Maine holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management from the University of Cambridge, Master’s in both Technology Policy and Materials Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Bachelor’s degrees in both Materials Engineering and English from Queen’s University.
