Chris Paterson has been involved with agronomy and agribusiness across North America for 25 years. For the past ten years, he has been directly involved with the development of new business applications and value streams around the digitization of farming, Agribusiness, and AgriFood. Chris’s favorite area of focus is where strategy meets technology.
Chris is currently the North American Project Lead for xarvio Digital Farming Solutions at BASF, and since the formative launch in 2015 has helped xarvio scale to millions of users, millions of acres in hundreds of countries, and hundreds of uniquely talented people in their teams. Chris also supports BASF’s Technology Scouting and Venture Investing arms of the company.
Earlier in his career, he was an early stage partner in Agri-Trend, a high growth consulting service for farmers across North America, and while there was cofounder of The Agri-Data Solution which became North America’s largest ag data platform, and led The Farm Forum Event and The agAdvance Journal – all were acquired by Trimble Ag in 2015.
Chris is motivated by being a connector. His background as a farmer, an investor, an entrepreneur, a team leader, a technical agronomist, a writer, a traveler, and a social networker help him connect the best ideas to the right people. Chris is also an active angel investor focused on early-stage Ag tech companies.
