Batia Mishan Wiesenfeld is the Andre J. L. Koo Professor of Management at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University. She received her Ph.D. in Management and Organizational Behavior from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Her teaching and research interests focus on the management of organizational change. Batia has examined organizations in various industries (e.g., banking, technology, telecommunications, healthcare) undergoing change associated with mergers, downsizing, and new technology, exploring how to maintain the productivity and commitment of employees. She also studies entrepreneurship, virtual and mobile work, online communities and the careers of top executives and directors. Her work has been published in numerous academic journals, as well as manager-oriented journals such as Harvard Business Review. She serves as a Senior Editor of the journal Organization Science. Batia is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, and is an elected representative on its Board of Governors.
