CEO & Managing Partner, Cue Ball

Tony Tjan is the CEO and Managing Partner of Cue Ball, a private investment firm focused on long-term and transformative opportunities across technology, media and tech-enabled consumer brands that hold the true potential to shape new categories and shift cultural conversations. Since its inception over half of Cue Ball’s investment dollars have focused on women-focused and inclusionary ventures.

He is also the co-founder and Chairman of MiniLuxe (clean beauty brand that is elevating the nail care industry) and was the founder of ZEFER (one of the first Internet strategy and web application firms that grew to over $100M before its merger with NEC). Previously, he played senior leadership roles at Thomson and the Parthenon Group. At Thomson, Tony served as the Senior Advisor to the CEO to help architect and lead its transformation from a newspaper holding conglomerate into the world’s largest information services firm – Thomson Reuters. Tony has written over 100 articles for Harvard Business Review and is a New York Times best-selling author of Heart, Smarts, Guts and Luck and author of Good People. He serves on the MIT Media Lab Advisory Council, the Board of the Tory Burch Foundation, and is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

He holds his undergraduate degree in biology from Harvard College, his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and was a two time fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
