Andy Burgess co-founded Somerset Entertainment, a producer and distributor of specialty music, and was its CEO from 1994 to 2010. During that time, the company grew from a private label to a public, diversified music company with revenue of $100 million and over 200 employees. Somerset was recognized as one of the 50 Best Managed Private Companies, and Andy and his partner won the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Media and Entertainment. Previously, he worked for McKinsey and Company in New York and Loblaw Companies in Toronto. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University and received an MBA from INSEAD.
Today, he is the Managing Director of Russell Square Partners, a Toronto private equity firm. He is Executive Chairman of Repath Industries and sits on the boards of Pluck Tea, Bitmaker Labs and Hamburg Honda. As well, he is Chair of the Board of Governors at Upper Canada College and Vice-Chair of the Daily Bread Food Bank.
