Lauren Epstein is a Principal at StandUp Ventures, a seed-stage fund championing innovative companies with female founders. StandUp partners with ambitious entrepreneurs across Canada to break through from Seed to Series A.
Before joining StandUp, Lauren worked at a large, Canadian, institutional venture capital fund, where she was responsible for sourcing, investing in, and supporting disruptive technology companies from Series A onwards. Previously, Lauren was the Director of Investments at Epstein Enterprises Inc., a Toronto-based family office, where she propelled the growth of the angel/seed-stage investing portfolio.

Before joining Epstein Enterprises, Lauren spent several years working as a litigation lawyer at a leading Toronto commercial litigation law firm, after clerking at the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Lauren holds a B.A. in Government, cum laude, from Harvard University and completed the joint JD/MBA program at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and the Rotman School of Management, graduating first in her class in the MBA program and as the gold medalist among the JD/MBA students.

Lauren is passionate about entrepreneurs, the Canadian innovation ecosystem, giving back to the community, and her family, including her husband, son, and daughter.
