Jim Stannard

Founder and Principal, BlueX Energy

Jim has 25 years of diverse technical, commercial, and executive experience in the energy sector. From 2002 to 2012, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Progress Energy as the company grew from a market capitalization of $140MM to $5.8BN. Following the sale to PETRONAS, Jim relocated to Kuala Lumpur to become PETRONAS’ Vice President, Unconventional, where he was responsible for developing technological capability and growing the company’s global unconventional energy business. In 2015, Jim assumed the role of CEO of PETRONAS Australia, where he gained valuable experience in the LNG and Australian domestic energy sectors while managing PETRONAS’ position in the US$18.5BN GLNG Project.

Jim is a founder and principal of BlueX Energy, which provides specialized expertise to advance energy transition and resource development projects from concept to reality.
