An exciting opportunity is available to join the Entrepreneurship Centre (EC) and the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) at Saïd Business School as Marketing Manager.
The Entrepreneurship Centre supports Saïd Business School students and alumni in pursuing their entrepreneurial ambitions, through experiential learning, thought leadership and access to relevant networks.
This role will be heavily involved in our newest entrepreneurial initiative: The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) – Oxford. The Creative Destruction Lab, originally conceived at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, is one of the world’s premier seed stage programmes for massively scalable science-based ventures. Oxford is the first site outside of North America to offer the CDL programme and will focus on the area of Artificial Intelligence.
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for building the reputation of the Entrepreneurship Centre and CDL-Oxford as one of the world’s leading academic centres focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. This post will involve developing and implementing a communications and public relations strategy to enhance the Centre’s recognition, both globally and within the University, as thought-leaders in the areas of both academic and practitioner-related expertise in the field. The postholder will develop and implement, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Centre’s and CDL Oxford’s programme managers, tools and processes to improve outreach and engagement for the Centre’s individual initiatives, e.g. the Oxford Seed Fund, Ideation Lab and the Oxford Saïd Entrepreneurship Forum. The postholder will also be responsible for analysing whether these efforts are successful, and how to improve them if necessary.
As part of developing and implementing marketing strategies for the Centre and its individual programmes, the postholder will also lead on the design and development of print, audio-visual and digital collateral as well as being responsible for the Centre’s marketing channels. Creating and curating content for these marketing channels such as social media, blogs, websites and email newsletters, is within this role’s remit.
The role is broad ranging; the postholder interfaces with key teams and individuals across the School and University and represents the Centre to external stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications Manager will provide best practice marketing advice as well as support a variety of high-profile projects on a day to day basis. The postholder will also be responsible for the management of additional communications support personnel.
